Jemma Cowburn, Learning & Development Manager

I began my career supporting people with disabilities in 2001, working across a variety of settings including day services and supported living. Ordinary Lifestyles has been a central part of my professional journey for most of my adult life. I first joined the organisation in 2009 during my final placement while completing the BSc Integrated Social Work & Learning Disability Nursing qualification at Salford University.

Since then, I have held the role of Registered Manager at Ordinary Lifestyles and have overseen the majority of our services at one time or another. My current role is Learning & Development Manager. I am registered with the NMC as a Learning Disability Nurse and a Social Worker with Social Work England.

Over the years, I’ve been closely involved in guiding Ordinary Lifestyles through continued growth and change. I’m proud to have contributed to shaping a diverse, skilled, and values-driven workforce who enable the people we support to enjoy the best quality of life. Supporting our teams to deliver high-quality, person-centred support remains the focus of my work and something I am passionate about.

Outside of work, I stay busy with my son and stepdaughters, and we love spending our spare time exploring the outdoors together.
